This is a unique showcase for art of all styles and media encompassing paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, and architectural models.

A selection committee whose members include practising artists and lecturers curate the exhibition.

The majority of works will be for sale and artists are encouraged to enter work, which is available for sale.

The selection committee is keen to see new and exciting sculptures for interior and exterior areas.

Each artist is entitled to submit 3 pieces of work for which there is a non-refundable handling fee of £25.

Booking Booking is now open to be listed in the 2010 directory and information is attached. We hope that as new creative practitioners come onto the scene we can refresh and update the PDF version annually in order to keep it up to date. For this to be possible, we will need an annual subscription to enable us to provide this resource for schools and learning settings. This year the subsidised fee will be £15. This fee is required even if you do not wish to make any changes to your entry. The Artists in Learning Exhibition (formerly Trade Fair) will take place on Tuesday 19th January. I have also attached the booking form for the Exhibition. This is where the 2010 directory will be launched as well as an excellent opportunity to network with teachers and others working in learning settings, who have shown a keen interest in attending the event. The workshop will be a combination of presentation, discussion and fun practical exercises. It is suitable for hands-on marketers and curious strategists.
It will be run by Mel Larsen, an experienced arts marketing consultant, facilitator and trainer. Mel has also founded several successful community engagement projects including the Streatham Festival, an annual community led arts event in South London for which she received a Lambeth Civic Award.

Play Pathfinder: A Space to Explore, Play and Contemplate. In 2008 Portsmouth City Council were awarded a grant of £ 2.5million as part of the Play Pathfinder to improve 28 play areas and build a new Adventure Playground. Play Pathfinder is distinct from other play initiatives in that its aim, through this funding, is to design & equip play sites that encourage risk & challenge, we are trying to get away from the 'off-the-peg' plastic play sites and instead create spaces that excite and where children can explore, engage and play.

Within this context we would like to commission site-specific bespoke art/craft/environmental works on one of our Play Pathfinder play site locations that include the local community’s consultation contributions in the development of these works. The artist/craftsperson will be expected to consider both the location and context of the site and its significance as a community play and communal area.
